Secrets to Staying Optimistic

I don't know about y'all but I suffer from anxiety. When things seem dim, my mind goes into overload and I literally have the tendency to freak the fuck out. But what's most important is that I don't stay down for long and can attribute many things to my growing resilience. So I'm stopping by to share my quick tips for destressing and staying optimistic in trying times. 

1. Download Self-Help Apps

I have a folder on my phone dedicated to my "anxiety meds." This folder consists of daily devotionals, inspirational quote,s meditative sounds and horoscope apps to keep me prayed up and positive throughout the day.

2. Set a plan for the day

24 hours can seem like an eternity when you're overwhelmed. I try to set a schedule for myself every day and as I go along I check things off my to-do list. Doing this builds a sense of accomplishment and can raise your spirits. 

3. Stay connected

Don't allow yourself to drift into negativity for too long. Sometimes all you need is some fresh air. Call your friends or go for a solo walk, but the important thing is to get out of the house. 

4. Moderately Indulge in your Vices

Low key, sometimes you just need a drink for the perfect cure to a long day. Whatever your hobbies or vices may be, you deserve an occasional slice of cake or unwinding cocktail to keep you from going insane.
